What is a bounceback?

A bounce back is an email sent from bulletin that never reaches its destination email address due to server problems in the internet, non-existent addresses or karmic backlash. Typically, an email will wander from server to server in an attempt to reach its destination. When the last server realizes it can't find the email address it will pass the email back to its sender with a subject along the lines of "UNABLE TO REACH DESTINATION" or "SERVER NOT FOUND" or similar, alarming, themes. This email will usually ends up in the email account that the original email specified in its "Reply-To" or "From" fields.
